Postino Uptown Park - Houston

This is a new location for me to try. Went with my girl for a bit of wine and we luv the many bruschetta’s they serve! We also luv the happy hour prices!!

I would give this restaurant a rating of two and a half stars, as it does not quite meet the standards of a three-star rating. As someone with experience in wine bars and wineries, I believe there are certain basic expectations that need to be met in order for a place to be considered a wine bar, and unfortunately, this establishment fell short in several areas. They failed to provide a wine bucket for our cold wine, did not inform us of the name, vintage, or origin of the wine, poured the wine incorrectly causing bubbles, and did not perform a neck pour. In terms of service, we felt that the staff was overly attentive, constantly checking in on us every few minutes, despite our obvious desire to be left alone for our discussion. While we were not rude, we believe that part of the dining experience is being able to enjoy it without feeling pestered. It was evident that the restaurant had a young staff, which may have contributed to the inefficiency in service and overall atmosphere. However, we did appreciate the decor, enjoyed the wine selection, and found the food to be excellent, particularly the chef's charcuterie board. If the restaurant can improve in the areas mentioned, I believe it has the potential to truly become a great wine bar.

They arrived on time, set up quickly and efficiently, and were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure that our guests had a great time. They even took the time to learn everyone's names and make sure that we had everything we needed. We'd be so grateful for Postinos to cater our upcoming event on Thursday, October 5th we are forever grateful for you Calie, Sarah, Susan and Sanam!

The host greeted us since we walked in. Really sweet and professional. My favorites are the soup, shrimp capri, and the board. You can’t go wrong with these. And please make sure that you finish it with strawberry cheesecake as a desert. It’s literally amazing! Btw, we were sitting at the patio on that day. It was all good until we needed a check, we haven’t been noticed for a while. I wish they have more employees outside so they can help us.
