J D's Old Town Tavern - Houghton Lake

We attempted to dine at the restaurant for the second time, but unfortunately, there was no one available to serve us. We arrived during the scheduled opening hours. I am not sure what happened, but I will not be attempting a third visit.

This restaurant has an incredible bar with friendly staff and patrons. The shrimp appetizer is crispy and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is welcoming, with live music, keno, pull tabs, and more. I highly recommend stopping by for a drink and chatting with one of the best bartenders in Houghton.

If you come in, make sure to try their delicious cocktails, but don't leave without trying the shrimp shack for some amazing shrimp dishes. Absolutely delicious.

Fun place to spend the afternoon and if they like seafood, it is even better. watch the **** mary specials. they are delicious.

Small place off the beaten path. Small craft beer selection which surprised me and I was thankful for. Cheap prices. Clean!
