While some customers were extremely disappointed with the poor service, slow serving times, and unpleasant ambiance, others praised the delicious food and excellent value. Some customers experienced long waits for their meals and felt ignored by the staff, while others thoroughly enjoyed their dining experience. The fish and chips were highlighted as a standout dish, perfect for a meal in North Fulham. Despite some negative experiences, many found the service to be friendly and efficient, with hot, delicious food served promptly. Customers were divided on whether they would return to the restaurant in the future.
Distinctly average food at this nevertheless busy pub. A vast menu, which could be the problem. Parking in road. Small garden. Ladies loo tired. Sorry, but not for us.
The staff try to be pleasant but don’t succeed; the food tries to be good but doesn’t succeed; the ambiance is dire and most of this comes from the landlord who probably should have gone into a different line of work; I really am having difficulty finding anything positive to say about this pub.
Today, I had lunch at Franklin Armstrong. It was not up to its usual standard. We had to wait a long time for our food, and my usual meal did not taste as good as it usually does. To make matters worse, we were charged £1 for a jug of water, something that has never happened to me at any other pub I have eaten at. It was disappointing, especially considering some of us in the group also ordered alcohol and soft drinks.
I had a great experience at this pub today. The lunch was excellent and the kitchen staff clearly know what they are doing. The beer was also great and overall, a meal at this pub is good value. It was a refreshing change from the usual options in West Sussex. Thank you.
We have enjoyed some wonderful meals at this restaurant in the past, but our most recent experience has left us hesitant to return. We ordered only one course during a weekday lunch at noon for three people, but had to wait a staggering 90 minutes for our food to arrive. By the time it finally came, we were famished. Unfortunately, some items were missing from our order, and there was no apology for the long wait. When we provided honest feedback upon paying, we were told that the delay was due to a new chef, which was not reassuring. We had to eat quickly as we hadn't anticipated such a lengthy wait and had no time for desserts. This experience was disappointing, especially after enjoying many quick meals at this restaurant in the past. Sadly, we are unlikely to return in the future.
