As I 'm sure many others do, we stopped off whilst on the South Downs Cycle. It 's perfectly located and service was good. Food 'slightly ' dissapointing I had fish and chips (which given the proximity to the coast could have been better , one friend had a burger (reported to be good and another had a pizza (it looked like a cheesy mess but apparently was great! . What marykK9073OS doesn't like about Cat Canary:
The service was lacking. We waited a long time for our food and there were no other customers around. We also waited patiently to be served at the bar. During our last visit, we experienced a similar wait for our food, even though there were no other customers waiting. Unfortunately, we do not plan on returning. It's a shame because the restaurant has a nice outdoor space. View all feedback.
We had been here a few years back and the food was lovely but tried to get food on a friday night to discover they dont have any on those nights. Who doesnt serve food on then its two of the busiest nights of the...
A bit off the beaten track so you will need to goggle map it but thats where the negatives stop....
Probably the best kept secret of Henfield. Unpretentious, solid courtesy, very clean and well kept bar!Their steak nights, fish and chip nights and curry nights are to be envied by (the so called 'good and the great ' and so reasonable (meat from Hutchins!!! .Landlady Jackie is so very good and welcoming. If you haven 't visited or are fed up with the usual boring others....this is for you.
This is a proper regulars pub, with darts and a pool table. Sells ok pub grub at a reasonable price. Beer is normally well kept. Has a decent garden in a nice quiet spot right next to the Downslink so a great place to stop if you are walking/cycling on this. Have even seen horses tethered in the garden whilst the riders have a drink! A bit old fashioned inside and can get very crowded at weekends as they often have karaoke, bands etc.

Only a couple of beers had hoped for a few more options, but what they had was OK. Certainly worth a drink stop off, either as a reward for the leg north from Bramber, or as a loosener prior to going south!
