I've eaten here 3 times so far. The service is pretty fast, but it's a bit pricey for the quality of food (not quite unusual for a resort).
Wow! The service was top class here at the bar. We went after an open bar event, tired of the selection. Lantana had some amazing bourbon and a few Macallan's to chose from. That satisfied me and my business partner. Our glass never went close to empty before a second was waiting. Always neat. Dominic was our man behind the bar along with the female manager of whom I cannot remember the name of. Both were exceptional at making sure our whole group was well taken care of. We filled the entire bar and truly didn't want to leave. Wish we skipped the open bar earlier so we could have spent more time bar side. My only comment for improvement would be to have some small bar snacks there. Thank you so much Dominic and your co-worker! We will be back for sure, the next time won't be for business but just to enjoy.
Since this restaurant is part of a 4-star resort, I expected better attention to the quality of the food. We ordered a calamari appetizer, but it arrived slightly undercooked. After sending it back, the staff kindly offered a complimentary club sandwich, which unfortunately was not very good. The BLT sandwich we ordered was overly toasted, making it quite painful to bite into. If it weren't for the servers being apologetic and generally pleasant, I would have given this place only 2 stars.
The Horseshoe Bay Resort is beautiful, and the Lantana Grill Bar has an appealing atmosphere. However, I cannot recommend dining here. The food was disappointing, especially considering the higher prices. Unfortunately, the service was the biggest letdown; our server was quite slow and had difficulty communicating in English, which I found surprising for a place of this caliber.
I ordered the salmon, but it was dry and nearly inedible. We were hungry, so we managed to eat it anyway. I was disappointed, especially since this is supposed to be the busy season. The other food was just average, and given the prices, it should be much better. Come on, HSB, you can do better than this!
