This is the best Chinese food I've ever had. House made egg rolls and crab Rangoon blew socks off. The lo mein was the best I've ever had. Fish fry? Unbelievable. They make a decent Manhattan. Joyce is a wonderful lady. Super hard worker, very accommodating and just an all around amazing woman. I live 4 hours away and I'll make it a point to come back here every time I'm in the area. Customer for life. View all feedback.
What Amonti Rhodes doesn't like about Hickory Pit Barbeque:
Definitely not happy! Paid for burnt and unfinished food. Wings are burnt ; they flipped them burnt side down so when I got home ... I didn’t notice until I started to eat. Rolls no glaze. Very very poor presentation of the food. View all feedback.
Great food and service! Would definitely recommend this place!
I'm really dissatisfied with my experience. I paid for food that was burnt and not fully cooked. The wings were charred on one side, and they were placed burnt side down, so I didn't see it until I started eating at home. The rolls were missing their glaze, and overall, the presentation of the food was extremely lacking.
The restaurant has plenty of TVs, but they all seem to be tuned to only a few channels. When we politely requested to change one of the channels, the manager was quite rude. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing; it wasn't even up to the standard of typical "bar food." In comparison, Trail House offers much better food and service. The only redeeming feature of this place was the Monday night trivia, which they have chosen not to bring back. As a result, I will no longer be a customer here.

I'm giving this restaurant a generous 4 stars, but it really deserves more like 3.5. We visited on a Saturday afternoon craving their Prime Rib, which has always been a standout, and this time was no different. Our server promptly brought us drinks and took our orders. There were only two of us dining, along with a few other patrons. We both opted for the Saturday special—the Prime Rib with two sides. I chose a baked potato and French Onion Soup; the au jus and horseradish came standard. The meat was cooked rare and perfectly executed. The French Onion Soup was nicely browned on top. However, the baked potato was disappointing—it tasted stale and reheated, and no amount of butter or sour cream could save it. My husband ordered his Prime Rib well done, paired with mashed potatoes and a vegetable medley, and he was satisfied. Unfortunately, after the main course arrived, the service really slowed down. We had to wait too long for things like extra napkins and a water refill, as there was no one around to assist us. When we received the bill, we experienced some sticker shock until we realized how generous the portions of Prime Rib were. Despite the hiccups, we plan to return next year for that delicious Prime Rib.
