Fantastic Japanese cuisine that feels homemade, filling and tasty. A mother and pop shop with a simple menu. The miserable soup, dumplings and chicken teeth were the best in Hoover. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shonos:
Definitely not a fine food, but a good place for fast, inexpensive Japanese cuisine. We were disappointed to find that they don't offer sushi, and all the meals we ordered had a bit too much sauce. But the taste was pretty good, and the service was okay. If we lived closer, we could eat there again, but it's a bit of a ride for us, and Hoover has several Japanese restaurants that offer a better experience. View all feedback.

Chicken entrée was delicious. We also loved the dumplings and the miso soup! A definitive stop for light, tasty and affordable Japanese cuisine.
Little hole in the wall restaurant with good food, quick service and friendly staff. Got the chicken teriyaki and fried rice.
Great spot for a quick hibachi meal without the show! Eddie's Special is my favorite. Comes with a ginger salad.
Fast service and cheap, delicious food. There was nothing we didn't like. It is a good place if you do not want to cook at home and want a casual meal without a chic restaurant decor.
