The malasadas are the best! Many flavors, apple, blueberry, lilikoi, pineapple. So good! They also sell many plates lunch items and big breakfast that will fill you up. You make sure to visit on your big island vacation.
This place is iconic .. everyone here knows about it... But we had never gone in here before A bit spartan in indoor seating, with some tables outside to keep you out of the elements We had 2 malasadas... One mango, one Bavarian cream. Pretty tasty andgood. But we both agreed that we've had better Still, it's worth the stop if you are driving through this area
We stopped to get our first malasadas and they did not disappoint. The price is great, the malasadas are fresh, and we were in and out in no time. The only regret is they didn't have guava filling and the bathrooms were less than stellar, but themalasadas were yummy. We ordered 2 malasadas each, but you can probably get away with 3 for 2 people because they are kinda big.I ended up bringing 1 back to the hotel and eating it the next morning. We didn't get any other foods, so this review isstrictly for malasadas.
Delicious food all around. Prices are reasonable and the staff were super friendly. It was a rainy day when we got there, and it was after 4 so we missed out on the gift shop. There?s seating outside and a couple of tables inside. Restrooms aren?t thegreatest, but it?s a public restrooms the restaurant shares with the other business in the building. But this is one of theplaces that has their take on the malasadas. They make it fresh and made to order with lots of flavors you can choose from. There?s lots of free parking and is located right off the main road.
We made a plan to stop here for breakfast on the way out to Waipi'o Valley. We ordered a banana cream and cherry malasada, which came out warm and fresh. I love a jelly filled donut and these were delicious! I got the breakfast burrito, which had eggs andPortuguese sausage (meat of your choice) and hashbrowns. Very yummy. My husband ordered the katsu musubi and the sweet bun eggsandwich with spam. It was so tasty, I almost stole it from him. But we're already planning to stop back when we drive to Hilolater in the week for more malasadas (we heard the Bavarian cream was their best seller after we ate ours).
