Located in Soho, right next to the mid-level escalator on Elgin Street, this French bistro offers a well-rated weekend brunch set menu with two or three courses. We started with devil eggs and escargots for our appetizers, both of which were delicious. For our main course, we had the pan-seared horseradish salmon and blue mussels in a garlic white wine sauce. What Sigurd Kreiger doesn't like about Bouchon Bistro Francais:
The food is quite good, I like their soup a lot. Tartare de bœuf used to be better tho. But the worst part is being seated right next to the door and being hit every time when someone opens the door.. View all feedback.
Again a place that left me with mixed feelings made smaller cozy place with beautiful atmosphere. in comparison to another place on the same road no splashy smell i.
Dinner in bouchon bistro francais was great! after a long day to walk and explore hk, and from the exploration of the SOHO area we decided to try.
I can't tell them how to eat. I just wanted a reservation and the dame tells me that I have to eat in less than an hour to make the table available.
I was initially unimpressed, but the set menu at this restaurant surprised me with a variety of delicious dishes. The starters, mains, and desserts had upgrade options to satisfy any taste preference. The escargot was excellent, the Burrata Parma ham salad was beautiful, and the Steak n Frites was perfect. The homemade Bearnaise sauce and fries were impeccable. Despite a slight delay in dessert service, the final course was worth the wait. The attention to detail in every dish was evident. The seating felt a bit cramped, but that's the Hong Kong style for you!
I had an excellent lunch at this restaurant, where I enjoyed a three-course meal. The onion soup with emmental was delicious, and the sea bass with lemon peel for dessert was beautifully prepared with melted butter. The food tasted homemade and was cooked perfectly. The price of HKD180 was very reasonable for the quality of the meal. The restaurant is small, but the seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is cozy. It's located in a quieter area near Elgin Street, which may be intimidating for some, but it's definitely worth a visit. It's a better value option for a business dinner compared to the crowded restaurants in Central.
