Lou Perry's - Honea Path
Lou Perry's
Description
Lou and Perry’s is a long-running, homey spot serving generous Southern comfort — standout catfish, country ham club, onion rings and hearty breakfasts. Friendly staff and reasonable prices keep locals coming, but service can be slow and quality inconsistent; some guests report cold food and hygiene concerns. The diner is cozy, often noisy, and allows indoor smoking. Note: it’s cash/check only with an on-site ATM that charges fees. Ideal for casual, budget-minded families and regulars, less suited to those seeking upscale dining or strict cleanliness standards.

We waited around 35 to 45 minutes for our food, but when it finally arrived, the fries and burgers were cold. The waitress was pleasant and did bring us fresh hot fries. However, I won’t be making the trip back to this restaurant.
First, they only accept cash or checks for payment. If you have a card, there is an ATM on-site, but be aware that it charges a service fee of around $2.85 in addition to any charges from your bank. Also, I was disappointed with the hushpuppies; they were definitely overcooked, looking dark and burnt. They were quite hard, so even with butter, I don’t think it would have made much of a difference. Lastly, be sure to bring a sweater or jacket as it tends to be quite cold inside. Despite these issues, the restaurant has been around for a long time and is still worth a visit!
The coffee is at the door. Pick your favorite cup and sit down, she'll be with you in a minute. They know where the menus are and they know if you aren't from here. But they'll smile at ya. You know when the volume is high with the breakfast crowd it's just plain good. The sausage gravy anf sausage biscuit was my favorite.
