If the food at The Saltry Restaurant was better, I would have rated 5. The Danny J boat experience was just great. The Saltry Ambiente at Halibut Cove is stunning. Quaint. Serene. The Chowder was good. The scallop tacos were terrible at $26. No way. View all feedback.

The view was breathtaking. Walking around the complex was very picturesque. Unfortunately, this was the only highlight. Food and service were terrible. Our server couldn't track what we requested. The food was very expensive. The quality and the portions were just terrible. The prices were from this world for what we received. The food was delightful, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I highly recommend trying the halibut!
Absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend the watermelon salad. It’s a perfect 10/10!
The entire journey there and back was a delightful and memorable experience. We tried the chowder, which was tasty, and the complimentary bread was also enjoyable.
The view was absolutely stunning, and strolling around the complex was quite charming. Unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our experience. The food and service were disappointing. Our server struggled to keep track of our orders, and the prices were exorbitant compared to the quality and portion sizes, which were both lacking. To top it all off, there was a fire that caused ashes to scatter over our clothes, food, and table.
The view was amazing! However, the dinner experience was just average. Both waiters asked us multiple times if we were ready for dessert, even though we hadn’t yet received our main courses. While the staff was friendly, they were not attentive or very professional. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant solely for the view, as there are plenty of places with stunning views of Kachemak Bay. We had heard great things about The Saltry from many people and were excited to share this experience with our host family, but unfortunately, we were quite disappointed.
