The Otter Room Grill - Homer

This restaurant, unfortunately, seems to be suffering from a staffing shortage, with just one person in the dining area and another at the bar. Despite the limited staff, the food was surprisingly delicious, especially the Reuben sandwich, which was loaded with meat. The tater tots were also a delightful touch, although the other items we tried (nachos, burger, and chicken fingers) were quite ordinary. We were lucky to find a table here on a Sunday night at 8:30.

WOW! Even though the restaurant was under-staffed and we had to wait a while for service (which doesn’t bother me in the hospitality industry; I understand how short-handed things can get), this place still deserves a solid 5 stars—and I’d give it more if I could! I had the best French dip sandwich of my life here, and my friend proclaimed his Reuben to be in the top three he’s ever had! The sides were also fantastic! I highly recommend this place!

However, there was a clear issue with staffing. The servers were clearly working hard to cater to many guests, which showcased great hospitality, but it was evident that there weren't enough of them. As a result, there were some disgruntled customers and a loss of potential sales, and the employees who were on duty missed out on the tips they rightly deserved for their efforts. If I were in charge of this facility, I would ensure that there are sufficient supplies of food and drinks, as well as the necessary staff to serve both customers and employees effectively. The current staff is doing a great job and deserves better support and recognition for their hard work.
