Caribou Family - Homer

A no frills diner in downtown Homer, Alaska. Serving traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner in a 1950s motif. Although there are no pictures in the menu, what you visualize the meals to be are exactly what is executed. The servers are quite receptive to customer needs. However, on my visit they forgot to bring me my toast with my breakfast. That is OK, I could do without the additional carbohydrates.

I was kind of taken back because it is attached to a bowling alley, it was closed for the summer! So next door we ended up eating without much of an appetite, it was an okay experience. I really didn't know what to order, so I would ask for a recommendation next time.

Limited menu for fresh fish (only halibut). Pricey. 6 ounces of fish and half a pound of tater tots. No salad or rolls$28. The place looks dirty. I won't be coming back.

Food poor, worse Corned beef hash I have ever had, taste better from a can. Besides it took me 40 min to get it. Excuse was they had been busy and the stove was cold, however the owners sat down and got there food before me. Sorry this is not a place to go period.

I wish there were two or three of me so that I could come even close to eating everything on this plate. The proportions are huge! If you want to go where locals go, and hear some local stories, stop by here in the afternoons!
