Contribute Feedback What The Elevator and Airplane Finder likes about Boardwalk Fish Chips:
Strolling through Homer while on a food tour, and made a visit to Boardwalk Fish Chips to see if they could excel with the combo. We got greeted by a super friendly employee, she gave us good suggestions since we were newbies to Homer but we obviously already knew what we wanted (Fish and Chips lol). And what are my thoughts on it? It was good! Although, the crisp level on the fish was just in the middle. Not soggy,... View all feedback.
What Bob Bobberton doesn't like about Boardwalk Fish Chips:
$100 for—and I say this completely objectively—some of the worst fish I’ve ever had. Zero flavor, tasted like it was last seasons freezer burned harvest was dipped in unseasoned batter and dropped into old oil. We took one bite and couldn’t eat another. For a place that came so highly recommended I am shocked by how bad it was. I’ve had better fish from food restaurants.
I recently had halibut at another restaurant on the spit, but this place is by far the best! The fish was incredibly fresh, tender, and juicy—I absolutely loved it here. If you're looking to try halibut in Homer, I highly recommend this as the top choice!
Located right on the spit, this is a well-loved spot in Homer for fish and chips. You absolutely must try the halibut fish and chips, which costs nearly $28 per order. You'll receive a 7 oz portion of Alaskan halibut served on a skewer alongside crisscross fries. The fish was undeniably fresh; my husband, who is quite sensitive to any fishy flavors, really enjoyed it. The batter-to-fish ratio was just right, and the fries were crispy and delicious. The service was decent—although the staff was busy, they still took the time to answer questions and greeted us with smiles. The atmosphere is casual, with picnic tables available both inside and outside for seating.
The restaurant boasts a stunning ocean view and has a wonderful staff that is quick and efficient. The clam chowder is delicious, particularly if you're a fan of dill. The halibut and chips were fresh and flavorful. I will definitely return!
We were just trying to find a place to escape the rain, and we stumbled upon a fantastic gem! Boardwalk Fish and Chips was a total winner. The halibut fish and chips were simply outstanding—absolutely flawless. In my opinion, it rivals their chowder, which was also incredible! If you're visiting the spit, make sure to head over to BF&C because it gets busy quickly!
While exploring Homer on a food tour, I decided to stop by Boardwalk Fish Chips to see how they handled the classic dish. We were warmly welcomed by a very friendly staff member who offered us great suggestions since we were new to the area. However, we were set on ordering the fish and chips! What did I think of it? It was quite good! The fish had a crispiness that was average—not soggy, but not perfectly crispy either. Still, it was enjoyable! The waffle fries on the side were tasty and well-seasoned. Overall, this is a great spot to check out in Homer. We returned in June 2022, but unfortunately, they were closed at the time. Hopefully, they will reopen soon!
