We were staying in Holyrood for our last night in Newfoundland and found this place on Trip Advisor. It was a fairly long wait for our food, but they were pretty busy both inside and out on the patio. Our food was very good. My husband and I shared the fish tacos and we each had fries with dressing. My daughter had a cheeseburger and fries. All the food was very good. I'm glad the waitress warned us we were ordering... View all feedback.
What Luc Dufour doesn't like about The Station Diner:
We stopped here for lunch with some friends and dined outside with a lovely view of the sea. The food was decent, neither outstanding nor disappointing, just average. View all feedback.
Nice place on the water. They have a large patio, but the weather wasn't great today, so it wasn't open. It is a busy place and just a short wait for lunch. Great staff and a good menu and a few nice desserts. The food was great! Definitely stop in, if you're in the area.

I'm glad the waitress warned us we were ordering a lot of food originally I ordered the fish tacos just for me and saw they didn't come with fries, so ordered the fries as well. There is not way I could have eaten all of that! There is a beautiful view at the location as well. We went for a walk along the trail and by the water before leaving.
We just happened to go here recently, without reservations, and didn't have to wait too long for a table of 4. Our meal was excellent and not too pricey. They have a ruben sandwich on the menu and some other unique stuff, in additional to typical pub fare such as fish and chips, hamburgers, etc. The decor is cute with lots of historical train pictures from the area and you can go for a walk along the old train rail path right from the restaurant.
I cannot get enough of this place. Was there the last 2 weeks. Prices good. Food fantastic. Desserts to die for. Staff are so friendly. Last week tried the cinnamon roll cheesecake. Best cheesecake ever. Loved it so much, I order a full one for Thanksgiving. Closing for the season on Oct 11, so get there soon. Oh and make sure you order the onion rings.
I enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio, the restaurant had good COVID-19 protocols in place. The fries were delicious and the turkey soup was excellent and home-cooked. However, the cod was a bit disappointing as it was overcooked and chewy. I was hoping for a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The service was a little slow.
