There are not many options for dining in Holyrood besides the excellent Tea Garden, but this restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The salads, mussels, and chicken parm are all delicious. They even gave us our salads for free because we had to wait a bit longer due to a large group ahead of us. The staff were friendly and overall I would recommend this place. View all feedback.
What Sasha Parisian doesn't like about Beach Cottage Restaurant:
Our experience in this restaurant was just awful! The tables and high chairs looked like they hadn't been cleaned in ages - we had to wipe them down ourselves. The batter on the fish was soaking wet on the bottom - disgusting! The coffee was not even drinkable. There were 6 people in our group and all of us except 2 received our meal at the same time - the other 2 didn't get theirs until we had all finished ours. And... View all feedback.
Visited the beach cottage with my family last night. This restaurant is now under new ownership and boy what an improvement! I dined with 7 others and everyone loved their meals and appetizers. I can't wait to go back.
The restaurant appeared inviting from the outside, but we were skeptical about going in due to the lack of cars parked in front for the past two days in Holyrood. Unfortunately, our hesitation was justified as the food did not meet our expectations. The staff was friendly, but we recommend not bothering to dine here.
I recently dined at this restaurant since it reopened. It was a party of 12 celebrating my mother's birthday. We were quickly seated and the waitress was friendly. Our orders were taken promptly, but there was a delay in getting our food, which was understandable given the size of our group and the variety of dishes ordered. Half of us had fish platters, while the others had burgers, chicken strips, salads, and pastas. When the food finally arrived, I was satisfied with my chicken fingers and salad, although they tasted similar to something I could make at home with boxed chicken from Costco. Unfortunately, not everyone enjoyed their meals - some found the fish soggy and undercooked, and the pasta sauces watery and bland. The building itself is large with outdated seating and poor lighting, but the view of Holyrood's local beach is lovely.
This is a large restaurant right on the ocean in Holyrood. We were a party of nine. We were seated quickly and the server took our orders promptly. It took a long time to get our meals. The food was ok. I enjoyed my chowder, some enjoyed their fish. Most said that they wouldn't return though.
My fiance and I had dinner at this restaurant for his birthday. We both had the seafood platter which was one of the specials. He had a beer and I had a glass of wine. The seafood platter was delicious and the portion size was ample. Calamari, cod, and shrimp with a seafood sauce and home fries on the side. The service was fast and friendly and we will definitely visit here again.
