I had a great time at the first elevator and enjoyed the scenic views. It was a fun experience with plenty of music and atmosphere. They offer guided tours, complete with special coloring books for the kids, and you can also visit historical sites in Holyoke that highlight its generational heritage. View all feedback.

that was really interesting for me. it was pretty cool to see how the fish path worked. it is only open for limited hours and only a few months. it is quite cool to take kids and show them this elevator for fish. they have to step up to experience the main event and I didn't see any elevator for people. there is a training area when they first enter. if you don't care, it's a nice idea. The lift wasn't operating when we came because it rained for a few days straight. The tour guide was knowledgeable. The kids had a great time.

If you like seeing wild fish like shad, sturgeon, eels, lamprey, and sea bass then this could be fun for a trip. HG&E carries the fish upriver using a giant fish lift an elevator filled with water so they can get over the Hadley dam during spawning season which is March to May ? .
Visited 6 years ago. Very interesting fish ladder. Good site for exposure visit of students.
