If you're looking for Indian food for dinner, Dawat-e-Punjab is the best place to go. It offers the finest Punjabi cuisine I have ever tasted.

The food is consistently delicious, and the portions are generous. It's definitely our preferred choice for dinner!
I love the food here, great spice and the service is spectacular, the staff are accommodating friendly and provide great service
This Indian restaurant offers a diverse culinary experience that varies widely between takeout and dine-in visits. While many patrons rave about the flavorful dishes, like butter chicken and goat curry, concerns arise over food quality in takeaway orders and inconsistent service. Experiences suggest that dine-in guests may face pushy tactics from staff, leading to discomfort. However, some diners report exceptional service and delightful meals, claiming this spot serves fantastic dishes in a welcoming environment. Ultimately, while the food can be outstanding, service quality remains a critical area for improvement.

While the food was enjoyable during our dine-in experience yesterday, the service left much to be desired. One of the waitresses kept approaching our table every ten minutes to ask if we needed anything and hurriedly cleared away plates that we had barely touched. Although this might appear to be attentive service, it felt more like pressure to eat quickly and leave, which made us uncomfortable. The restaurant was mostly empty, with only our table and one other occupied, so it wasn't as if there were guests waiting for a seat. We felt rushed to finish our meal starting at 7:30 pm, even though the restaurant didn’t close until 9! There’s a fine line between being courteous and being pushy. Additionally, our requests for napkins and water took an eternity, and the restroom was unsanitary with no toilet paper. When we asked for some, it initiated a frantic search that seemed unnecessary. It appeared that they weren't very accustomed to or welcoming toward dine-in guests. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. This experience was disappointing!

Yesterday had a dinner . There food was so good . The environment was very nice. I love there butter chicken , dal makhni, Garlic naan and also the other curries. I had a take away before and the food quality was always same. The waiter was very good and smiley face and the whole crew was very good and no tension about parking a lot off parking space. This is by far the best Indian food I've ever had! My cousin and I were in the mood for Indian cuisine, so we decided to try this restaurant. The service was outstanding—both hosts were well-dressed, friendly, and incredibly professional, clearly proud of their establishment. We ordered appetizers and main courses, opting for the goat curry and a chicken dish, along with rice and naan. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were just right. I left feeling full and completely satisfied. If you're looking for a great Indian meal, this place is a must-visit. Keep up the fantastic work and excellent service! I loved it and will definitely be back!
We’ve ordered takeout from this place several times and always enjoyed it, so we decided to dine in tonight. The service was just as excellent as the food! We especially loved the coconut rice and mango lassi—so delicious! We only wished we had room for dessert! The kids enjoyed it as well. :)
Absolutely fantastic! This was my first time ordering from Dawat E Punjab, and I can't find a single fault. The staff were incredibly polite on the phone, my order arrived right on time, and the portion sizes were much larger than I anticipated, especially the goat curry. The food was hot and simply DELICIOUS! We tried the chicken tikka, samosas, kadai chicken, special goat curry, rice, and garlic naan. We requested it to be medium spicy, and it was just perfect with an authentic taste. This has quickly become my favorite Indian restaurant in Canberra, and I will definitely be ordering from here more often. My only regret is that I wish I had ordered dessert!
The food was amazing. Really rich in flavour. Best butter chicken I have ever had. The naan bread as exceptional too. I will definitely be back.
Tasty dishes with a Punjab twist. Don’t come in unless you want a leisurely paced dinner. Staff are friendly, each dish was yummy and generously portioned. Their lassis tasted a bit different but I am guessing that is the Punjab style spicing up that makes it so. Have no complaints as it is fairly new and located near Kippax Vet.
