What User doesn't like about Primo:
I was quite disappointed with my experience! If you're willing to spend the money, I would recommend going to Ruth's Chris instead. The food was mediocre, and the service was just okay. Splitting the bill at the end was a hassle and didn't make much sense at all. On top of that, the napkin had a strange, unpleasant smell. View all feedback.
Great food … and wonderful atmosphere… I’ve been here several times… I’m always fully satisfied with the food and service…
Great location, ambiance, terrible at cooking steaks. For 65$ ribeye, medium rare had no pink in it, the other ribeye at the table was also chewy and over cooked. The veil was hard to eat as well.
What a strange experience. This was our late Valentine's day dinner. I had seen the menu, and mostly positive reviews online. I feel like we missed the peak of this place maybe 10 years ago. The decor and ambiance were dated. I asked one of our servers (I'll get into that) and she said it used to be a reception hall, which makes sense. Ok... There is a bus boy that gets your water. There is another guy that brings your bread/bruschetta. Then you have 2 servers that don't communicate with each other do order from them on. Like one takes your appetizer order, and then the other one takes your entre order, and then the busser takes your dessert order, and then the hostess brings you and returns your check. Very strange and confusing. The menu that was already small online is MUCH smaller now. We literally went because they were supposed to have carpaccio. We were told that in December they had removed 2 items from each of the options. 2 appetizers (including the carpaccio, which I did get told was fantastic by one of the servers), 2 salads gone, 2 soup gone, 2 seafood gone, 2 chicken gone, 2 steak gone. Leaving barely 2 choices for anything but steak. The drink list was a joke, and when we asked for special cocktails, we were pointed to a section that was 5 kinds of martinis, and at least 3 people telling us they do have a full bar. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't great. She had the Chilean sea bass, which was a special, and I had the veal marsala. It was nothing to write home about. We had to ask to even be offered dessert, and the list what relayed to us fast, and confusing. By this point the evening was already gone, and we were riffing on the strangeness of events. The bill came, from the hostess, and was $150 for two people, no salads, a vodka soda, and amoretto sour, and two entrees. I had just gone to Charleston Draper the night before, and had a similar ticket for SUCH better food, and better experience. I can't imagine this place lasting much longer without drastic changes. The comments that not many people are there, are for a reason.
We went there for a company Christmas dinner. The food was excellent. Such great atmosphere, and the servers were very attentive.
