This restaurant is a hidden gem that is easy to overlook if you're not actively searching for it. They have a fantastic selection of vegan and vegetarian pastries, with separate menus dedicated to each. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, willing to suggest options and make substitutions when asked. What User doesn't like about The Little Poet:
I ordered the vegan eggs benny with vegan bacon, it was delicious! My partner ordered the vegetarian option and said it was one of the best he had tried. The pricing is almost too cheap for what we got! I also got a choc croissant which was a nice sweet treat. Would definitely go back again! View all feedback.
Was recommended by two vegan friends for their cakes…but I began with the truffle oil pasta with artichokes. It was beyond delicious! A friend with he got Taiwanese sesame paste cold noodle their comment was “Very healthy and healthy tasty snack”. Went back later the same day with two friends and had the berry crepe cake, which I’ve seen made plenty of times on YouTube but never made myself…was great to try, fresh and creamy. Friends got (1) brew chai with almond milk and maple syrup and said “Good proper brew chai”, (2) a Sesame iced latte which was “Refreshing and perfect” and (3) a Lemon macaron, which they said “It delightfully tasted of nuttelex”. Good time had by all and I love the best coffee cups!!
The chicken and waffles at this restaurant were absolutely incredible. Despite being vegan for 25 years, I have to say that it was the best veg chicken I have ever tasted. We also dined at Rude Boy, known for their chicken dishes, but found the Little Poet chicken here to be even better. The atmosphere was charming, the coffee was delicious, and the desserts were outstanding. The only downside was the vegan egg we ordered on the side, which was so unpleasant that I struggled to eat it. Despite that, everything else was fantastic and I would definitely return. I had a big breakfast and the Taiwanese pancake both of which were nice with the Taiwanese pancake being the star (make sure to ask for vegan and add extras if you want). To echo others, I was keen to try the cakes but seemed expensive for what they were. Overall I really liked it but found the menu a bit confusing, like when something was or wasn't vegan but still a great option in Hobart! The mugs were also really cute for the chai latte so would recommend that
I just loved this restaurant. The special French toast was amazing - I haven't had it since I became vegan 13 years ago and it was exceptional! The coffee was also fantastic. The atmosphere was charming and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be returning! #Veganuary
Never had a chicken and waffle before, I am glad that the first one was vegan and amazing!!
