Don't expect your average pub fair when you eat at The Republic. The menu offers a broad flavour range, with some definite flair added since I last ate there aeons ago. I had the chargrilled octopus, and while the occy could have been a little more generous for the price tag, it was delicious, every mouthful a morsel of delight. We regularly attended the Monday night trivia which ended late last year which was excellent. However, with the pub being sold and the new management sacking all the old staff and quizmasters, and instituting Funky Bunch trivia has ruined what was once a great evening out. Seriously.. best meal ive had in hobart for a while. We ordered the seafood platter for 2, drank red wine and enjoyed the atmosphere.. cheers for the excellent service.
Fathers Day! packed house! Perfect service. Our meals were amazing as always! 10 happy family members able to relax and be satiated too! Huge shout out to the seafood platter for 2! Made my 'dads day! ' Mum was pretty impressed also!! Rack of lamb special amazing! The Tassie scallops and pork belly special went down beautifully. Otto your service was outstanding as usual. Wing Wednesday highly recommend. But share the platter, to big for one person but perfect for two. And delicious
