This place is one of the best hotels my wife and I have ever stayed at! The historic building has been beautifully renovated to an impeccable standard. We stayed in the Hunter Suite, which was extremely spacious and clean, featuring a comfortable bed, a private balcony/terrace, and an incredible bathroom equipped with a walk-in shower, a large bath, and underfloor heating. This is a very perfect hotel. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The interior of the room is very clean and tidy. A good hotel worth recommending.
This is now my favourite hotel to stay in Hobart. We booked it first time and stayed there Jan 2021. It was my Husband’s birthday and the hotel upgraded our room for free. Amazing and friendly service! Delicious and seasonal restaurant! Incredible building and extremely spacious and comfortable rooms! Overall experience 6 out of 5! Recommend! Recommend! Recommend!
My wife had booked this place for 3 nights from April 7 April 10 (school holiday period). The booking had been in place months in advance. We received an email on April 3rd saying they had to cancel our reservation due to a water leak in the room in which we were meant to be staying. Curiously, their website still had a larger room (suite) available for those dates, yet this was not offered as an option. The initial email was extremely poor with zero offering of any attempt regarding resolution (only when my wife sent an annoyed reply did they offer an upgraded room but for different dates). Luckily, we did manage to find somewhere else to stay. To the (new) management at Maylands: A phone call would be a much better start than an email cancelling a reservation 4 days prior to the stay, particularly during the school holiday period Did you consider a last in first out approach for the cancellation (I'm pretty sure our booking would not have been last in)? I would recommend that you do you best to try and remediate these situations for (what would've been) paying guests, rather than making token offers only after we complain
And it was nice. the room was so modern and luxurious. there was a staircase in a reading room with view. windows would open onto a small balcony. beautiful smart TV and spacious rooms. only that, this place could do with one. the stairs can be exhausted and it wouldn't be good if they had an injury.
This place is unbelievable, I would give it ten stars if I could. the building and the property are beautiful and the room is just as beautiful with an amazing view. When we arrived, we fired this for us. the location is very good a few minutes drive to salamanca place. a delicious breakfast was cooked each morning with a fresh coffee for us. the service was five stars, thanks to those for their ease and helpfulness. I don't want to look.
