Very nice place and good service. The owner and the boss is the same and is very jovial. We ordered Karahi Paneer, Dal Makhani, Garlic Nan and all the favorite Mango-Lassi. Karahi Paneer means cottage cheese cooked in the deep iron cooking pot, Dal Makhani is a dish from all black lenses with red kidney beans, butter and cream. Dawat is led by Jimmy, who is both owners and chef. He is an inspired chef that serves authentic Indian cuisine at reasonable prices. My wife and myself and family and friends have eaten in many cases and have to be got to know Jimmy well. He is a great presence with a bubbling personality and the willingness to adapt and accommodate. He recently received a beer and wine license and constantly upgrading the room. A new floor and new wine glasses were added. Really good for authentic homemade Indian grub. Can not go wrong with many free parking spaces next to the Valin hotel in Albert Road Moonah.
