It may well be that the loop has a slightly blunted reputation due to the young party environment of earlier times. but it’s really really about changing on the west coast, where all of us have been a fantastic surf spot 45 min. by car from aalborg. You can highly recommend a visit. are for water sports or just a little good surfing mood, then you will be sold immediately. View all feedback.

came for an ice here. was rather disappointing, the creatures were very small compared to other places in Denmark and the ice was half melted when we served. on the other side the fish and chips looked very nice, but we couldn't try them out. View all feedback.
Overall a fun experience. My girlfriend and I were there in the off-season in September and decided to try surfing for a change. The equipment (board and wetsuit) seemed in good shape and the staff was generally forthcoming and friendly Minus one star because we booked a hour surf lesson and were expecting a little bit more information as part of the lesson. We were given a brief introduction to the site and told how to stand up on the board once we catch a wave (assuming you manage to turn theory into practice with only two hours). However I wished our instructor would have given us a little bit more theoretical information on other aspects of surfing for instance, in order to have the necessary knowledge to progress on our own afterwards as well. For instance: how do you recognize a good wave in time, before it's to close to catch? When is the best time to catch a wave? (when its just starting to curl on top? when it has already completely collapsed on itself with plenty of foam forming? Which part of the wave is the best to ride on? (in front? on top Can you ride these smaller waves at different angles moving along the wave or only moving forward with the wave? How do you turn In hindsight it would have been better value for money to watch a youtube video on how to surf, read up on the Lokken Surf site online and then just rent a board an wetsuit for hours, which works out cheaper than booking a hour lesson Minus another star because of the staff's lack of flexibility towards unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately my girlfriend had the bad fortune of nose diving early on in the lesson, resulting in the board popping out the water and smacking her on the head. Those things are hard and we suspect she suffered a mild concussion as a result. She walked out to the beach and sat there for about an hour and a half to settle down. After having regained her bearings a little bit she was motivated to have a few more tries on the board but it turns out the lesson was over exactly when she started re-entering the water. The instructor told her that if she wanted to continue, she could rent the equipment for another hour session. Of course the instructor is not at fault for her bad luck, HOWEVER given she was unable to part-take for most of the lesson, given it was the last group lesson of the day and it was off season so the surf school had plenty of spare equipment, given the school was going to stay open for another couple of hours (to run the bar and register new bookings for the following days) and finally given the session costs around a little bit of flexibility with an offer to let her keep her board and wetsuit for an additional hour would have been a friendly gesture and gone a long way towards customer satisfaction On a side note, our instructor did mention that should we accidentally nose dive, there have been cases of people being hit on the head, so evidently this is a fairly common occurrence. Although it might look stupid aesthetically, I think it would make sense to offer people on the course a helmet, like the ones used for canyoning. This would certainly help avoid the chain of events which led to my girlfriend wasting her lesson and would contribute towards improving safety I hope the staff at the surf school can take home some constructive criticism from this review as well.
