Lopez Okonomiyaki - Hiroshima

If you are a type of person who wants to avoid tourist places, but want to explore places of local favorites, this is certainly such a place with high rank that is given above all by locals who are experts for Okonomiyaki. And you will know why locals love this place. They will have ingenious food, with its authenticity of massive local fans who do not make it, sitting outside terrace chairs to wait until their turn is invited by the hot plates. The owner speaks English when he lived in Louisiana. But most guests seemed to be locals, and I even saw a great sign of popularity that more than several locals take meals even during dinner time, while the Dine-in seat was full and people wait outside.

Lopez is a restaurant specialising in “okonomiyaki”. Diners enjoy the food prepared before you on the grill. Seats are limited, so please wait. Pro Tip: Try the jalapeños as a topping.

The only place in all Japan where you can get an amazing Hiroshima style oknomiyaki and Chicken Fajitas. Both were fantastic. I loved the atmosphere and the staff was very friendly. I hope to visit this place again if I plan a trip to Hiroshima. Thank you Lopez Oknomiyaki!

And this restaurant to your to-do list while in Hiroshima. The classic dishes served up here by the Master chef and owner are well worth the trip. Make sure to add the toppings of your choice since the signature dish which starts out as sort of a crepe with a ton of cabbage can be a little bland. My suggestion is add pork, jalapenos and cheese. Be prepared to sit at the grill area and eat the food right off the grill, although if you confess you're a novice Chef Lopez will provide you a plate.

Just superb. I haven't eaten many of the okonomiyaki on offer in Hirohsima, but it's clear that this is a masterclass in the skills required to turn out the perfect dish every time. The owner is so welcoming, working with a skilled team to keep the grill moving while chatting away with all the customers seated around it, it's a real joy to watch them work together. Highly recommended for anybody, local or visitor, it's a genuine pleasure to eat here.
