The peking duck bao has received notably negative feedback for underwhelming execution. Pricing has also raised eyebrows, with several diners feeling the meal doesn’t justify the cost. Nonetheless, the restaurant garners loyal supporters who recommend it for its delicious offerings and charm, making it a noteworthy destination for sushi and creative Asian cuisine enthusiasts.

My husband and I enjoyed Nomai for a rare date night and we were not disappointed. The food was extremely good and we enjoyed the unique choices, but also appreciated that we could have gone with burgers if we decided to. We started with bao and calamari and I ordered a delicious cocktail. We both opted for the ramen bowls, mine regular and his spicy. The first sip of the delicious broth told us that we made the righ... View all feedback.
What MaryG dislikes about Nomai:
The atmosphere was really nice, however everything else was just okay. Our service was extremely slow. It got to the point where we almost left. The food was good, but took too long to come out. Overpriced and underwhelming. Everyone in our party said they wouldn’t go back. View all feedback.

I think Nomai is the best restaurant on the south shore. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the ambience and decor are perfect. I particularly love the wings and the sushi. They are also very good with allergies, and have lots of good options for gluten allergies.
Food was absolutely delicious. We had the sea scallops skewers in a yummy sauce, the filet minion which melted in my mouth, and the chocolate mochi butter cake that has the best ice cream and toffee topping. We can’t wait to go again.
We had a wonderful brunch with 2 other families, kids included. I have been here quite a few times for dinner and lunches, but this was the first time we had their brunch. The brunch menu was great. Everyone had a great meal, including the kids who really like the new sushi menu. The ambiance was wonderful under the trees and the service was on point. Not too overbearing but attentive just right. Thank you again for another amazing experience. Definitely will be back again.
For the money, I would expect more professional waitstaff and more interesting food. It was just ok.
Had a great night at Nomai celebrating the 50th birthday of a friend. Our server was great and very accommodating with the celiac member of our large party. Only suggestion would be to pay closer attention to the flavor of certain dishes. The Miso Cod should have been very flavorful based on description but actually was pretty underwhelming and the cod was slightly overcooked. Cocktails and vegetable side dishes were good.

Staff is nice and attentive. They put my protein on my sister's salad. I didn't realize they had given me the wrong salad until the waiter told me. This caused a delay in my sister getting her salad. I kept the wrong salad but they didn't comp us anything on the bill for their mistake. Music was too loud.
The restaurant was pretty small, so I would make a reservation for our next visit. That being said, the food was amazing, our waitress was very nice and fun, and the atmosphere was very relaxed and calm. We were there for a birthday, and we had a party of 12, so it was really good that we had a reservation. Also, the way the food is served is that it is meant to be shared, so whenever any dish is ready for the table, it comes out, so that none of it gets cold and you can all enjoy/share if you want to. We will definitely be willing to come back again for another visit.
Outstanding! South Shore has another high quality restaurant. Service best I’ve seen in a long time. If you haven’t been go, and then you’ll go back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100
Went for drinks with coworkers. The drinks don’t look like what you’d expect, but they were tasty! Parking: Plenty of parking. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: $10–20

Overpriced small tapas like âentreesâ. Ambience is wonderful, food ok, portions tiny food and drink wise.
The food at this restaurant is average and very overpriced. One dish, fried rice, cost $28 and was nothing special. The fried chicken was hard and crusty, making it difficult to eat. Another dish, noodles with carrots and beef, was undercooked and overly salty. Overall, the food was not worth the $80 per person price tag, especially considering there was no alcohol included. The quality and presentation were poor, and the decor was unimpressive. I would not recommend this restaurant to my friends, and I doubt it will last long. Good luck.
The service was subpar. It took over 15 minutes for our server to come over and greet us. Lots of people running around everywhere, looked like 2 managers were on at the same time, but not offering help just taking up space. Food was okay⦠would have been a much better experience had the service been elevated.
The calamari was tasty and the bread was light and not greasy. The fish was decent, but my friend thought his carrot noodles tasted like Dinty Moore beef stew. Overall, the meal was not worth the prices.
