What Anthony G doesn't like about Locales Tacos Y Tequila:
Most American cantina I've ever been to! Staff is meh. Food is pretty good. When you ask for water, you get warm trap water that tastes like it was sitting in a water gun in the sun. Waitress was annoying, visited too many times. Their supposed Hottest sauce was not even close to hot! And waitress warned like it was gonna melt my face!!! I've been here 3 times and it keeps getting better each time. The food quality is consistent, and the grilled fish tacos are to die for. The servers are friendly, and they make a great margarita! This is definitely one of my go-to spots, and will be visiting more frequently this summer with their outdoor picnic table seating!
Food is good, but the service is you. Went on a Friday. Inside was busy and very loud, so we opted for the patio. No table service out there for some reason (apparently standard policy , so we had to order inside. Got 2 margaritas, made in one shaker and only partially filled the glasses (for $12 each . Ordered chips and salsa, chips came out but no salsa, so had to go back inside for that. Food was brought out, but we had to flag down the kid for utensils. Fish tacos were good, but small for $9 each. My wife liked the Tazon bowl. Had to go back inside to order more drinks. And they put bins out for trash, recyclables and dishes so you can clean up your own table(! . I should've tipped me. If we go back (unlikely it'll be take out only.
We show up at around 7PM, 2 of us. There appears to be outdoors seating, it 's a nice warm night, why not? There are four 14-yr-old girls at the hostess station. When we inquire, they say It 's just for take-out . OK...the restaurant is half full, plenty of empty tables. We ask, can we get that high-top over there? They reply It needs to be cleared as if it 's some sort of insurmountable barrier. They do not offer another table or any alternative. We just stand there and wait. 5 minutes elapses. The five 14-yr-olds watch TikTok and ignore us. We ask again if there is a possibility of a table. One of them offers to ask (ask? who? the other three 14-yr-olds? and we stand waiting for several minutes until the humiliation is just too much and we bail. Don 't recommend.
Amazing atmosphere down to earth environment, and the tequila is next level. Surfer owned, and the owner was educating us on tequila.
Fun and fresh options. Great margs. Guac was excellent.
