Excellent restaurant with great food. We had an interesting combination of fish, chick peas and chorizo and it worked well the bread was really good with the dip and olives. Service was great! Love the vibe. View all feedback.
What Jameson Kuvalis doesn't like about New Local Eatery:
the new local was consistently good, so I was interested in whether you were eating translated to take it! we ordered the padron pepper side, the Korean bark shell and the lamb fur. everything was delicious, but the lambskin was out. we're lucky to be in their delivery zone so we didn't even have to leave our lounge. if they can, they support our large local restaurants! Unfortunately we had a mix up with the bookings which was probably my fault and they accepted us for the original night we had planned....so great we went. The food was a multi ingredient extravaganza of tastes and textures which all worked really well. The 3 of us selected different things and each one was as good as each other, although I would say I enjoyed the small rather than the larger more. A very enjoyable night and one to keep on the the top 20 list of favourites.
You couldn’t get closer to the Entertainment Centre if you tried! Yes, Pre show dining was in fact why we happened to be there but I was still bemused that they automatically gave us a pre show shortened menu even though every night they are also meant to offer full a la carte. Never mind. Couldn’t be bothered worrying about it! The food we had was superb so that’s the sole reason for 4/5. The descriptions of the dishes on paper sounded like there would be too much going on on the plates, but all the components worked in complete harmony. We had salmon, duck leg and beef cheeks and have full marks to all with special mention of the pumpernickel crumb with the salmon. Yum!! We wouldn’t hesitate to go back for another pre show meal because of the food quality alone. The rest of the experience was a bit of a hotch potch. Tables are very close and so you feel hemmed in, wines on the wine list have changed from what’s printed so if you order a Chardonnay of x brand they just give you another brand!!!, and we wanted rosé but although the menu said it came by the bottle, that was beyond the waitress who said no, glasses only!!!….and the timing is way too slow. Had we wanted the three course option we would not have had time. And as it was,we arrived 20 mins early for our booking and still only had time for two courses with that extra time. I’m not saying New Local Eatery is trying to be ‘fancy’ but it generally lacks polish, pizazz and speed …BUT makes up for that by its food quality.
Delicious interesting food small and large plates available and at this instance we were allowed to bring our own special bottle of wine the personal service is highlighted by the fact that it is in a relaxed and funky venue We have ordered so much good takeaway food from this restaurant during Covid 19 restrictions. Always delivered with a smile and enjoyed!
Had to wait 35 minutes for a pre-order lunch! Food portions where so small you would need at least 3 times as much. Still hungry.
Cute little spot in Hindmarsh. The service was good and the food exceeded my expectations. Really delicious vegan options. Already planning on going again.
