What Geo Marks doesn't like about Al's Aloha Kitchen:
I ordered a brown rice dish with tofu at this restaurant. It was highly customizable and vegan-friendly, but the taste didn't really match my expectations for a dish featuring brown rice and vegetables. It was a bit pricey at $14.75 (with an extra $1 for premium mango toppings), and I didn't feel satisfied with the portion size. However, the restaurant is cozy and very accommodating for vegans. I ordered a brown rice bowl with tofu. Very customizable and very vegan friendly, but the flavor wasn't anything beyond a brown rice bowl and veggies. It was fairly expensive at $14.75 (I did add premium topping of mango for extra $1) but it wasn't worth the price and I wasn't totally full afterward. That being said, it's convenient and very vegan friendly. I also did not have the acai bowl or smoothies which seem like the specialty here
Really amazing place! We got smoothie bowls and went to the beach this morning and totally exceeded expectations! Yum!
I ordered the “make your own” option with the base half-and-half brown rice and mixed greens, tofu as my protein, cucumber, carrots, and pickled white onions as my three toppings with the dressing being a mix of two vegan options: ginger and lemon miso as recommended by owner. The bowl comes with pickled ginger and a generous sprinkling of black and white sesame seeds. The owner was nice enough to give me a sample of his chickpea beet salad in which the chickpeas are so married to the beets that everything is the gorgeous deep pink color of the beets. Then I had the Banzai Bowl which is organic açai and pitaya sorbets with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapples, organic almond granola, drizzled with raspberry sauce (w/o the white chocolate coconut cream). It was all so good and filling! Read longer review on my website here: [hidden link]
Had the Banzai Bowl and coffee. The hot Coffee comes with a vegan creamer, coconut sugar, and something called Instafuel. Tasted amazing!
Visited this restaurant after a lovely morning walk at a nearby beach. The smoothies and fruit bowls were excellent options.
