We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. In a town full of Mexican restaurants we were delighted with a change of venue or menus I guess you could say. The shrimp was good the chicken was awesome and the fish was ok, but I must say I am used to to cooking catfish for myself so the bar was high for golden chicks fish. If any improvements were needed it was outside the restaurant. Not much parking and rough driveway. View all feedback.
What Yikes ahootie doesn't like about Golden Chick:
Ive always Loved Golden Chick, Great Chicken and Great flavor, however these last few dozen of times I've gone it's started to be different. The Fries have completely changed and are soggy and have none of the flavor or crispiness they used to have. And The side portions are significantly smaller. This is my favorite golden chick location, it's always fresh and they never mess up the orders like my local location.
Always excellent service and food. The catfish and shrimp are delicious and as good as any seafood restaurant. Chicken tenders are also delicious. Free Ice Cream!
My family stopped here for lunch on our way to Lake Whitney State park. The restaurant was clean, food tasted great and service was quick.
90% of the time the workers are great and get the job done but today they said I couldn’t get two extra rolls with no explanation.
Didn't have what they offered on the menu. I tried 3 different things and didn't have any of them. Got okra and a sweet tea (tasted like a metal can okra was good.
