What Denise C doesn't like about Dickey's Barbecue Pit:
To start, the menu could use some clarity. When it says "2 of meat," it should be straightforward and simply indicate "2 meats" or clarify that it's "2 out of 2 choices." The rolls are incredibly dense—might as well use them as weapons! They're as heavy as a brick! And the potato salad? It's just mush and not tasty at all. Honestly, what's the point! My wife and I just ate at the Dickey's BBQ in Hillsboro, TX. I can't believe how bad an experience it was. I ordered the burnt ends sandwich. It was served lukewarm on a stale bun. The meat was tough. My wife ordered the sausage and brisket plate and it was served cold. She also ordered a salad and got potato salad. The soda machine was out of order and the tea was sour. The restroom was gross too. The first table we were gonna sit down at was dirty as well. The only thing that was decent was the baked potato casserole. I always wondered why there weren't any cars there. Now I know. Wow, and it cost $33 for slow service. I don't even want to give it 1 star. It totally sucked.
Dickeys is really tough to beat when it comes to bbq. I've had just about all of the smoked meats and many of the sides and I can't say there's any bad food on the menu. The ribs are some of the best I've ever had and the Mac and cheese is incredible.
This place NEVER has food. The sign flashes open but try getting in. Try getting in and sitting down to eat lunch or dinner. Ain't going to happen! I don't know how this place stays open. I tried, FOR THE LAST TIME to eat at Dickey's Hillsboro tonight at 6:30!!! Yes 6:30, DINNER TIME!! Sign said open but doors locked and no one around. Unbelievable!!!!
First the menu must be called to reflect what is meant! 2 flesh should be 2 flesh! or it should say 2 of 2 decisions. the rolls could be used as weapons! **** like a brick! potato salad is Mush....nasty- why something special!
