This was truly a delightful surprise. They clearly dedicate a lot of attention to their performances, but the food and service were fantastic as well. The BLT toast appetizer was particularly unique, and the burrata and tomato appetizer was expertly prepared with locally sourced tomatoes. What User doesn't like about Park View At Ravinia Festival:
The atmosphere is quite disappointing. It felt more like dining in a Holiday Inn! It's a shame because the food was good and Ravinia has a wonderful charm. The prices are on par with a five-star restaurant in the city, but this place really doesn't measure up. It definitely needs an overhaul. View all feedback.
Professional and timely service. Small menu but excellent quality.
Well, it was better than being outside in the wind and rain, but . . . The service was quite poor on a night when there were few diners, they did not have the wine I ordered (though it is still on the list), we were charged twice for a salad that had been ordered as an entree (I suppose double charged because they brought it out twice), and service so slow we had neither time to order dessert or to review the bill when it finally came as the concert was about to start. All in all, a very disappointing prelude to a wonderful concert.
Really a great surprise. Obviously a specialty place focused on performances. But food and service was great. BLT toast app was really special and buratta tomato appetizer was well done with local(? tomatoes. Skirt steak had great flavor grilled over wood and tomato vegi accompaniment was wonderful. Very pretty space that surprises with excellent food service setting up for enjoying stage performances.
The ambience is terrible. I felt like I was dining at the Holiday Inn! Very sad because the food was good. And Ravinia is magical. The prices are equivalent to those of a 5 Star downtown restaurant and this place isn’t even in that class. It needs a do-over.
Food was outstanding unexpectedly so. Service OK. Very nice people but understaffed. Bring your own wine. $25 corkage feel worth it, as their markup is 4x or more. E.g., they charged $72 for a bottle that is $16 retail, so we would end up ahead bringing our own and paying the $25.
