Feedback
Topkapi presents a mixed dining experience that leaves much to be desired. While some patrons praised the unique doner kebab calzone and friendly staff, others reported serious issues, including inaccurate billing, unsatisfactory food quality, and even food poisoning. Complaints ranged from small portion sizes and burnt offerings to unsanitary conditions. Although the restaurant boasts a vibrant atmosphere and riverside seating, inconsistency and questionable hygiene overshadow its appeal. Diners seeking a delightful takeaway might consider alternatives, particularly those prioritizing health, as Topkapi has proven to be a hit-or-miss depending on individual experiences. Caution is advised for prospective visitors.
This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. I went with two friends on Wednesday for a large order of chips. I was charged £8.50 for the chips, which I thought would cover everyone's order, but then my friends were also charged separately. After receiving my chips, the man tried to charge me again, but I refused. Upon leaving, my friend informed me that the portion of chips was actually quite small. Overall, I believe the restaurant to be dishonest and deceitful.
Ordered a jumbo sausage, chips and a tub of cheese and received an awful burnt pizza , a black pudding, awful chips and my cheese had a bug in it do not recommend at all even if your on the worst hangover better jjst going to the shop and getting a pot noddle. terrible
Staff are always lovely and food perfect thank you. My husband and I used for a long time and always happy.
I visited this restaurant after a night out because it was the only place open. The young girl behind the counter tried to overcharge us £26 for 1 kebab, onion rings, and chicken pakora. It seemed like she was trying to take advantage of us because we had not been drinking. When we asked for a receipt to verify the prices, she refused to show us one. She then threatened to lock us in and call the police because the food was already being cooked and we had not paid yet. After a brief argument, a man from behind the counter allowed us to leave while apologizing. Giving this place a 1-star review is not enough, as this kind of behavior seems to be common based on other reviews.
