This hotel&restaurant definitely has a vintage charm. We stayed at a B&B in the next town and just went for dinner. We did not have any expectations other than to get a warm meal. What we got: the best Steak&Ale pie we‘ve ever eaten. It was the most unexpected find on our entire trip.
Stayed for 3 nights, the owner?Peter was very pleasant and very informative.Food menu not very big but they did what they did well, and Peter went out of his way to chat to everyone. The place is what it is! Very clean but yes it has the charm of an old building. Our room was in the annex and was quite big. The surrounding area is stunning and worth a visit .
I have eaten in many places and was looking forward to a nice meal as others had recommended the hotel. They were there quite a few years ago though. Myself and my father ate there on the 29th of May I had the haggis to start, which was expensive for a slice of haggis on just as much potato with a splash of gravy over the top. It wasn’t very tasty, but I was hungry after a day travelling. My father had veg spring rolls which he said were very bland. We both had the Thai chicken curry and all I can say is that there were chewy chunks of chicken in a green soup with rice in the side. Not a vegetable to be seen. All served in an old pudding bowl (small) and we were given a spoon to eat it. The bottled beer was fine, but nothing else. It’s also very run down and nothing like the website. I did try to book to stay, but fortunately (now) there was no availability. I heard the young waiter tell other guests the salmon was off the menu. The burger looked like something out of Mcdonalds! I won’t be back! We are in the Slaters arms in Cannich the next night, which was fine though small portions. A more reasonable price with more selection of drinks.
Lovely little hotel run by a helpful, nice family. Cosy room, spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom products. Was at the end of the season so food menu was a little limited but the fayre was good home cooking. Nearby activities: Perfectly located for Plodda falls, Dog falls and Glen Affric. Rooms: 4 Service: 4 Location: 5
