The perfect place to enjoy drinks and an evening meal. The setting is tranquil and relaxed. The hosts were very friendly and made us and our two Cocker Spaniels feel so welcome. In fact our dogs didn’t want to leave Food was of a good standard simple pub food but with good quality ingredients and cooked to a high standard. Try the Greek Salad it was excellent, the homemade pie was also superb View all feedback.
What Lina P doesn't like about The Slaters Arms:
We entered the Slaters Arms around 7pm and were greeted by a manager who was very rude. He informed us that we wouldn't be able to eat for at least half an hour. We responded with a smile, saying that was okay and that we would just have a glass of wine in the meantime. However, he did not offer to serve us and instead stated it would be another hour before we could be seated. Despite this, we politely asked for a dr... View all feedback.
Booked a table before hand which I recommend doing as it can get quite busy. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We have eaten at a few places in Inverness and the food is better here.
We had been informed by a local in another village that this pub was only one in town now that The Glen Affric Hotel was knocked down(horrified to hear this since we used to frequent it’s pub/restaurant when we came up for holidays at Shenval) We decided to go in for a drink on our way back from Loch Affric on our bikes one evening were pleasantly surprised by how nice the owner was behind the bar…..so much so that drinks turned into dinner and what a yummy meal it was…..all home-cooked bill not too expensive at end of night. Fabulous old pics on pub walls of the dam builders from 1949(which is how Cannich town came about to house them all) the shinty teams of old inc the local chap who invented this dangerous but great game!
Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had. If you’re not eating you’re not drinking. We visited for a week and on the second night at 8:30 Mr personality the suspected owner replied to our request for a 3rd drink with sorry lad you’re the only 2 in we’re closing. ‘Lad’ I’m 57. I wouldn’t give them another penny of my cash if I was dying of dehydration. In short abysmal service in a dump of a pub.
Read the reviews on TA for this establishment, all we can say is we are glad we ignored the low reviews. Beer choice was excellent and well kept, the food was first class as were the young waiting team and the guy behind the bar. Give it a try with an open mind, you will not be disappointed
