Salen - Highland

Great for children under age (games. Very nice service. Democratic prize. Many choices (fishes, meats, typical dishes, children's dishes, vegetables (rare in ecosse! and everything was very good.

I stayed at a nearby bed and breakfast, just 20 yards away, and decided to dine at this restaurant with my family. The meal was superb and the staff were very friendly. The setting was lovely and we felt very relaxed.

We stopped here for a late lunch as we were exploring the Ardnamurchan peninsula along Loch Sunart (surely one of the wildest, most remote, fascinating and scenic drives in Britain: check out the hide at Garbh Eileen, Rough Island to see nesting herons and basking seals across the water) and were delighted by the location and the quality of the food. I had locally caught and house-smoked salmon with fresh salad, and my husband had the beer-battered fish and chips. The owner/chef even asked his preference for which beer to add to the batter! Everything fresh and delicious, somehow unexpected in this remote area.

Great setting. Bar and dining areas fantastic. Food and staff excellent. We had a lovely evening at the Salen Hotel and would recommend it wholeheartedly

The restaurant is charming and the food is delicious. The burger with blue cheese was exceptional. The service was attentive and the prices were reasonable. The only issue was that they did not receive my email to confirm a reservation, which they mentioned a couple of times even though the restaurant was only half full.
