I’ve eaten twice in the past month at this restaurant, within the Moorings Hotel. Both times were great but the last time, a few days ago was sublime. I’m very picky too, so not easy pleased but my sea bass was the best I’ve tasted. The waitress staff were lovely too. Want to go back soon! Thank you View all feedback.

Wish we read the negative comments before I had to write this review. Unfortunately, we dined at the restaurant and were extremely disappointed by the service. The food was highly overpriced, and portions fit for 4 year olds. However, our complaint is directed towards the restaurant service and etiquette of the service staff. Nicely cooked food. Service was a bit hit and miss with only 2 members of staff dealing with snack-type orders, coffees etc and our two sunday lunches
Stopped off here for lunch and was disappointed with the lack of menu choice, basically soup or open baguettes. I opted for an open baguette which was not much bigger than a finger roll. At just over £8 I though this was awful value for money and would not go back again. This was once a decent place to stop for a meal or light lunch, such a shame to see it go downhill so much.

After having to pay £250 for six adults and three kids, we ended up snacking on our own snacks to fill up our bellies. Not recommended at all. Will be back in the area, but definitely NOT in the restaurant!
It was Monday and we were surprised the restaurant did not serve a proper lunch that day but later on we found out it was pretty obvious here for many businesses to be closed on Mondays. Anyway, the restaurant was at least open, the waiter was very nice, they had good beer, a good cup of coffee and even could serve us a plate of hot soup. Instead of second dish we were able to choose from salads to go which was surprisingly a good option for us. Tuna salad may not seem to be too tasty in a little box but after tasting it, we were pretty satisfied. Moreover, you a have a nice view sitting right next to the Neptune´s staircase so thumbs up for us.
Don’t usually do reviews but today had 2 small/ regular cappuccinos for £7.90. No prices on display and guy serving when we asked after said this was because the prices keep changing. Not sure why they could be written on a blackboard? Anyway we felt irritated with ourselves for not checking the price first. Lesson learned, but felt a bit ripped off by the experience…watch out!!
