Popped in for a cuppa and we can honestly say it was the best cuppa tea we had had in ages. Very clean and comfortable. Lovely assortment of shops and crafty bits to look at. View all feedback.
What mfuwe doesn't like about Highland Centre:
While traveling and feeling hungry, we decided to stop at this restaurant. It seemed to cater more towards tourists, especially those on coach tours, rather than being a traditional restaurant. The food was tasty, although it was a bit plain. Hot meals were served from warming trays behind a counter, and there were sandwiches and soft drinks available in cabinets. We always make a point to stop at this restaurant as a pit stop on our way to our next destination. The food is amazing and the prices are always reasonable.
I was embarrassed for tourists coming here thinking it was representative of a Scottish restaurant. We arrived after a long drive and anticipated having a sandwich and coffee! It was 2pm and the food was finished, no sandwiches and no cakes!!!! The person working on the till also had to make the coffee and was required to leave the till while he did so, which resulted in long queues! We required to use the toilet when there, my husband had to queue for a long time to use the disabled toilet as this was the only toilet working since the gents were out of order! The ladies toilets were very poor with toilet paper littering the floor. According to the check board hanging on the door it had been checked only in the morning! I was so annoyed I spoke to the manager who told me that they had had 14 coaches in that day so the mess in the toilet was to be expected and also that they had no food in the restaurant! The excuse of a bank holiday was also used. Bank Holidays happen throughout the year! No excuses, it was obvious that more staff should be employed! Will be avoiding in the future and will not be recommending to others!!!!! Extremely poor!

Overall, it was a decent enough spot to grab a quick bite, but for a more authentic dining experience, we would recommend looking elsewhere.
After enjoying fine dining further north, we decided to stop here for lunch on our way south. Despite not being familiar with Fort William, we found it easy to park at this restaurant. However, we were disappointed by the unappealing appearance of the lunch options under the hot lights. I ordered a scone and decaf coffee, while my wife opted for soup and tea. The scone was large and difficult to eat, and the decaf coffee was not good. My wife left her soup, noting that there was too much of it. The Scottish decor and music were overly exaggerated and tacky. The service was polite, but overall we were unimpressed.
