I've been a regular at Fairways over the year but not since covid. The place has been decorated and is nice. The food in my opinion has slipped, table beside us returned their dinner because it was cold and when mine and...my guest got our food our chips too were cold and required returning. This was explained as the water well that heats the chips running low which is fair enough. My issue with Fairways now is the prices versus the quality of the food. I ordered a Wagyu burger order cheese bacon to go with it at an extra per topping which took my burger to something like it arrived it looked like what I'd expect for from a chain pub. The burger was not what I'd expect from paying the price I paid. The table beside us also commented on the price versus quality so I'm glad It wasn't just me.

One couldn't say the environs are attractive, a dimly lit car park with lines of parked HGVs, but once you're in the door it's a different world (but don't turn left into the bar)....I would agree with thecrimswife's review though I think a is just a bit too generous. Fast and very pleasant service, excellent basic food and really good portions, all reasonably priced, what else could one ask for? I really don't understand the jaundiced comment about chips, says more about the writer I guess (maybe used to ghastly oven chips), nothing whatsoever wrong with the chips! And to prove it, we went back the next night!

One of our children has multiple food allergies, and our server was very helpful and accommodating to his dietary restrictions. The food was delicious and the service was quick.
