What PhilJ887 doesn't like about Coul House:
I just want to express my gratitude for the fantastic birthday celebration you hosted for our family on Saturday. The cakes, afternoon tea, and service were impeccable. Stuart, Lara, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make it a truly special day that will be cherished and remembered by all of us. Thank you! View all feedback.
Restaurant review (not a hotel guest beautiful warm and welcoming atmosphere with a friendly, courteous and professional service of coul house and stuart, was my first impression beautiful restaurant and eating was good in the eighth after I had spoken with stuart who had asked me how the dings were, I will make some observations, no complain that I was not asked that my coat hanged. only the waiter added: I hope that was pleasant for you. this statement is closed and provocative, but the waiter was professional and polite I was not shown my bill at the end of this unsafe, if service fees therefore included I was asked, but was aware that it was right of simple mathematic, these are smaller points and would not prevent me from recommending Coul House. Thank you.
Eating here is simply amazing! the rooms (i ve in more than one) are spacious with magnificent views around the hotel, comfortable beds and very nice bathroom (many with showers and bathtubs). the service is very friendly and helpful for everyone with members of the dinge. I was a guest of the restaurant and the hotel to a series of occasions and will definitely return.
A wonderfully secluded and beautiful traditional' hotel. I had a one night stay at Coul House and was fortunate to get some great weather. Having walked around the extensive and well maintained gardens and then sitting on the terrace in the afternoon sunshine looking at the horses in the field at the end of the lawn, I felt relaxed and very content. The room itself was fine, not spectacular but clean, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant was competent but not outstanding: crab, tomato and fennel bisque for a starter was tasty enough but I couldn't detect any fennel. I asked for my fillet steak medium rare and it came medium well, but the cut of meat itself was excellent, generously sized and full of flavour. The peppercorn sauce was a bit thin and lifeless. Veggies and chips were good. The service was great and not intrusive. The dining room is spectacular. With a huge oil painting on one wall, views of the gardens and top quality furnishings, it's a beautiful place to have dinner. Taken individually and in isolation, I'd probably give the room and the restaurant stars each, but Coul House Hotel is greater than the sum of its parts when you include the gardens, level of service and general ambience of the place I think it deserves top marks. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
In the middle of the day. this hotel is 1st class. great love for detail, beautiful location, friendly efficient staff. chris the general manager goes out of his way to ensure that the guests are well looked after. he even arranged a meal for us that was not on the menu. excellent, this hotel should not be 10 stars 5!
This hotel was booked in very last minute while I worked away, came in quite much cheaper than hotels in inverness. I was a little concerned by this fact, but I have to say that this is just one of the most beautiful hotels in which I stayed. the hotel settings are stunning and the hotel itself is full of history. the room I had was more than I expected, the bathroom was immaculately a modern but more classic. the room itself was the same, the staff is friendly and very attentive. the quality of food is absolutely excellent. they will not be disappointed to stay here.
