We (me, vegetarian wife 10yo son) ate here while staying on site. The meal choice was limited, but very good although as other posters have mentioned the service was a bit erratic. We also had breakfast here as part of the B B deal and... View all feedback.
What Oynelady doesn't like about Boathouse:
Ate here as a family and thought the food was pretty awful. I hate writing bad reviews, but I also hate being ripped off when food is poor quality. We tried the buffet so it might’ve been better in retrospect if we had ordered fresh food. The chicken wasn’t hot enough and as a result, was chewy and dry. The salads tasted as if they came in catering packs. Inexcusable for a main course costing nearly £15. It’s a real... View all feedback.
Staffing not the best and seem to interested in speaking to one another instead of taking orders for customers. Soggy sandwiches(nothing like the pictures with the nachos and salad on the side) sister only got given a sandwich. I got given the stalest GF bread...
Arrived at 2:30 for late bar snack lunch. Hardly anybody eating but it was such a beautiful setting. Sandwiches were dreadful stale bread which I sent back once.... the fresh one wasn’t much better! Nachos that came with it were a few crumbs and...
We had a meal here after a day spent using the water sports facilities. The food was excellent and the service was good.We had the special and the children had the biggest burger with chips. The food was lovely and the burger was delicious they couldn't finish it dad had to help!!)We would definitely eat here again if we were using the facilities.
There were 17 adults in our group. Not easy for a restaurant. However the staff at the Boathouse were efficient and friendly, they coped perfectly with a complicated mix of dishes, the quality of the food was excellent and of course the location is stunning. Alison and her staff gave us a meal and en evening to remember.
We only popped in here for a quick cuppa after visiting The Frank Bruce Sculptures. We had hot chocolate, tea and a couple of cakes whilst enjoying the lovely views. The lunchtime menu looked good so we would go back again. There is also a wee gift shop. We bought a kiddies book which was reasonably priced. Worth a visit.
