Samrat Tandoori is my favorite restaurant great food, good service and very reasonable pricing. No hesitation to say, best Naan I have eaten. What I love most is menu is not too big and all food items are of very good taste. Very personal service. View all feedback.
I am reluctant to put this review, because presently they are never too busy and very affordable and my secret food destination for the best Indian food in the world..... but I have to put my own wants aside. Since the Tandoori Oven closed (many tines Best Indian Restaurant of the Year),I struggled to find a descent Indian restaurant in Adelaide. Then one day, I happened upon the Samrat Tandoori while looking for the cheapest Indian restaurant I could find. It is a tiny, family own restaurant that could easily be ignored because it is overshadowed by a bigger Pizza place. But the Tandoori Beef I got from here was better than the Tandoori oven...it was the real deal (and I have been to Indian twice, Nepal once and Sri Lanka once). I keep coming back my little secret. I could add the remainder of the tandoori sauce to Costco's bucket of Butter Chicken, transforming it from OK to amazing. Recently I had ny 60th birthday here. They supplies 50% vegetarian and 50% meat dishes (everyone but my Dad loved it but my Dad doesn't really love anything in the way of restaurants these days). Then we all sang Happy Birthday but then the daughter of the restaurant owners cane out and gave me a hand drawn card for my birthday and then played it on the violin, while the father came out and truly sang his own version of Happy Birthday. I posted the video and it brought people to tears. They deserve richness, fame, celebrity, everything so here i day it ....THE ONLY INDIAN RESTAURANT WORTH TRYING FOR FOOD IN ADELAIDE IF NOT AUSTRALIA. Be warned, the decor is limited and often you have to ask then to play Indian Music But what they lack in decor, they make up with the genuine home cooked Indian food only a true person who is passionate about Indian food will understand. I don't normally post reviews but they made my 60th Birthday a time a will never forget. Show me a restaurant that can do that, and I will be there.
This little gold mine is still one of the best Indian restaurants in Australia. It's in South Australia (not WA). Located on Fullarton Rd, Highgate this small restaurant packs-a-hell-of-a-punch with its dishes. I would highly recommend trying this place out, you won't be disappointed. Of course, with COVID-19 you might find it hard to dine in, if you're looking for that experience. Don't let it deter you, you don't miss out on flavour or a welcoming smile when you order to take away.

Haven't dined in here for a while. It is usualy take away. Food is excellent and service friendly. Very close to home. Good value. Love it
As a massive fan of Indian food, I've eaten on 3 continents and know quality when it's on my plate. The chef began cooking at the age of ten, so I understand, and is focused on method more so than anything. It comes through in the final product which is sure to please. If they had a more impressive layout, you'd find them featured in the top 100 restaurants. Don't worry, squirrel this one away as your local hidden gem!
