What Annie Bauer dislikes about String And Splinter:
Our group waited over two hours for our dinner to arrive at our table. The service was slow and terrible throughout the evening, resulting in a very unpleasant dining experience. We won’t be returning unless we hear that the service has significantly improved! View all feedback.

Delicious food, a lively atmosphere, and friendly people! If you enjoy socializing and trying tasty dishes, I highly recommend the String Splinter Club.

Jake, a visionary much like myself, overheard my grandmother bragging about my student film. Without skipping a beat, he offered me my first (unpaid) internship on the set of a Hollywood movie, conveniently located just five minutes from The Club, right here in High Point. This is no Soho House, but with the imagination, inspiration, and innovation of the leaders in this hidden gem of a community known as High Point, USA, one might find themselves lucky enough to snag a highly desired lunch spot at the String and Splinter Club. For anyone in the design industry—not limited to just furniture or interior design—there’s no better power lunch venue; it puts Booth Two at the Polo Lounge to shame, and I speak as a former regular. The service is delightfully attentive, and while the portions are generous, they never overwhelm, especially with the trademark hospitality for which the South is renowned. While the legendary comedian Groucho Marx once joked about never joining a club that would accept him, he surely would have thought differently had he experienced the historic charm of being a member of the String and Splinter Club. The cocktails, some crafted by guest bartenders (exclusively for members), rival those found in many local speakeasies. There are convenient private meeting rooms available for those who need to keep a billion-dollar deal under wraps, yet still visible enough to be a part of the scene. In addition to this, the club hosts engaging events like craft beer tastings by the owner of High Point's own Brewers Kettle, catering to emerging talents, as well as themed dinners on quieter nights that challenge even the most sophisticated palates—a quality that keeps me returning for occasional date nights. This club is welcoming enough for ladies’ tea groups yet equally accommodating to visiting celebrities, dignitaries, and royals, all treated with the Southern hospitality that High Point is famous for. With a few fringe benefits thrown in, membership becomes a one-stop shop for aspiring C-suite executives, retired legends willing to offer mentorship, and anyone fortunate enough to enjoy a meal in a converted factory—an icon in a city perched at the highest point along the railroad. Known among the select few as The String and Splinter Club. For KCRW, I'm Mike Hayworth. Next week, we’ll delve into the arts, starting with America’s foremost design library and exploring a path of pennies.

I always have a fantastic dining and service experience at The String. My Rotary Club meets there for lunch every Monday as well.

I visit this place every Tuesday for Bible study. Tracy is an excellent server; she always remembers everyone’s special requests.

What a delightful experience this was! I will definitely be returning. I visited with a friend, and everyone was so friendly. The food was exceptional and excellently served. The security guard at the entrance was a pleasure to see and displayed professionalism. The food was delicious, and the hostess provided outstanding service. I can’t wait to come back!

The new chef, Brian Anderson, has created the best food I have ever tasted in my life. The atmosphere is exceptional, and you can't go wrong with his dishes. I was truly impressed!
