I just enjoyed a meal from the new bistro menu, and it was fantastic! The half-priced wine was a nice bonus. If you're looking for a lovely evening in a beautiful setting, this is definitely the spot. With $10 meals and drink specials, it's perfect for any day! Yet, the elegance of this place also makes it ideal for special occasions. View all feedback.
What MichaelB doesn't like about Cristina Gray's Restaurant Bar:
The restaurant is conveniently located in my hotel, which is a plus. The staff were fantastic, and the service was among the best I've experienced. However, the food did not meet the standards expected of a restaurant like this; in fact, it was quite disappointing. I'm not sure the restaurant will succeed, as even the breakfast the following morning was subpar, to be honest. View all feedback.
Last week I told a friend of Christina Greys. I told her that my husband and I had a wonderful meal there before Kovid and that she should try it. So my husband and I decided to take my own advice tonight. What a disappointment. I don't know if the restaurant is under new management, but I can only say we were underwhelmed. The atmosphere was completely different when they had added another dining room and the lights were very bright. It lost the enchanting mood. We went to the order and they were from their signature meat exchanges that my husband had spoken for years. We ordered something else and waited for 40 minutes for our roasted chicken and grilled salmon dish. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I finally asked our waitress who wasn't very good when there was bread. She said? I can get you bread if you want. She brought out the bread with our meal. Meals were oversalted. The asparagus was hard and hard to cut with the butter knife we were given. The risotto was very good, but the salmon and the roasted chicken were blanching. Not worth the trip to the highlight of Greensboro. Such a disappointment. Great loss in the area.
I come to High Point a lot for business, a group (8) wanted to catch up, eat and have a few drinks. It?s been a while since I?ve been to Cristina?s so I was happy to visit again. What a let down it was? the restaurant was half full at best, after waiting for a while at the door the waitress approached but was extremely uninterested in serving us, her first words were ?it?s going to be 30 45 minutes?? we?d be glad to sit at the bar and wait but she didn?t even make the slightest attempt to accommodate us. After a short cold and rather brash few sentences from her we ended up leaving to take our business somewhere else, and most likely will steer clear in the future. I?m a business owner myself, and I don?t usually leave bad reviews, but this was such a strange and disappointing experience I think the owners should know I know I would!
After arriving on Friday evening around 7 o?clock, four of us walked in only to stand at the front of the restaurant. No host there to greet anyone. We we?re waiting on four others to join us for dinner. When the server or hostess or whoever it was walked over to greet us, she was exceptionally rude. The first words out of her mouth were, ?We are on about a 35 to 45 minute wait.? (with a scowl on her face) As if she didn?t want us to dine in the restaurant at all. Understaffed or not. I have lived in this town all of my life and I would prefer to support local business. I can assure you that I will never go back into this place. Nor will the two guests from Europe who own a large furniture business in this town. We would?ve loved to go and sit at the bar while we waited and enjoy a drink or two but her attitude, this not the first time we?ve experienced it, was ridiculous. I would think with the new remodel that just took place growing the business would be something beneficial, but again I feel we basically were asked to leave. There?s no doubt she was deterring us from staying. I?m sure there will be some lame reply like ?I?m sorry your experience was not a good one?. We often try supporting this restaurant and when we do there is always 6-10 of us. I?m so frustrated about the service in this town and especially from a place like yours that is considered to be upscale. Sincerely, A concerned resident of High Point who cares about great service in his own city
I?m staying at this inn for a week; which is not inexpensive, neither is the restaurant. My first evening I went to Christina Grays and it was wonderful. Absolutely amazing service, friendly, attentive, etc. the second night I sat for about 20 minutes and no one would wait on me. Now, I?m staying at the inn so for a week is $1,000 and for some reason tonight they wouldn?t wait on me. I walked out and went to Sweet Old Bills just three blocks down. There was only one table occupied and three people at the bar. The previous night I left a very generous tip. So bottom line is spotty service. I understand things are not the same but this was unsettling. I stay in High Point a lot and was planning on staying here but am rethinking that as this was just so odd. This experience has reflected on the hotel and not just the restaurant. I?m not sure I?ll stay again. I am generous and at least would like to be waited on.
The restaurant is beautiful but the food was just a bit average for the price. The service was great however. It would not.be a place I would want to frequent except for maybe a salad and some wine.
