That was really a nice pub. everything was pleasant. the location, the music, the decor, the atmosphere, the eating, the service and the price. excellent quality eating. we will travel back over an hour because it is really worth the trip for eating alone. View all feedback.
What FarAway05074294111 doesn't like about The Railway:
As I had done many time in the past I had the cod and chips option for lunch. I was disappointed to discover it now comes with deep fat fryer scraps scattered over the meal. They are supposedly salt and vinegar flavour but this was hard to detect. The abundance of fat was easy to detect however. Sadly the scraps were scattered over the fish but also through the peas. Large bright room. garden. 3 real ales on all good ones. personal friendly.
Very disappointed about the lack of menus for the choice for the Thursday curry day. Apparently it is due to the company joseph fetched not to have delivered it to the railway pub. zack was very helpful in discovering the information re allergens. the meals were well presented and very pleasant.
Absolutely fantastic pub. Visited for the first time today, whilst on holiday, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time(10oz gammon steak), with hubby enjoying his very much too (cheese and bacon burger). Extremely welcoming of our nutty ginger pup, who happily ate a kids meal (gammon steak too) and then munched on a pigs ear, whilst we tucked in to our grub. Staff were very friendly, especially the blonde lady behind the bar. We live about 90 minutes from this pub and I can honestly say that I would happily drive the 3 hour round trip to eat here again!! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!
