The deli and cafe across from the opera house is fantastic. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe and also bought some delicious items to take home, including the amazing Buxton pudding. View all feedback.
What Rdelawn123 doesn't like about The Buxton Pudding Emporium:
We called for a coffee and cakes to the Buxton Pudding Emporium. We had 2 lattes 1 decaf tea. Loafcake. Raspberry Victoria sponge. Rocky Road. Coffee and tea, ok. The Rocky Road ok. The other two cakes were very poor value for money at £3:99 each. Very expensive. I will definitely not be using again. Dickie View all feedback.
Excellent cappuccino served professionally and owner a font of knowledge with the history of area. Thank you
I have been going here for some time now and find it very welcoming . The staff are always so very polite , the food has always been very good and well presented . I have tried most things and find all that I have had to have been well prepared and in a timely manner . And the produce on sale in the shop is very good also. It is to be recommended to go for yourself to see. Take care , John (the green wizard).
A real hidden gem, and well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and welcoming when we stumbled in looking for a cuppa and some shelter from the rain. The Buxton pudding was a delight (whether with warm or cold custard! and the hot chocolate was wonderfully rich. The extensive selection of local, quality produce was worth a browse too! Would very much recommend.
Fantastic food with excellent service. Toasties are highly recommended along with the award winning Buxton pudding!
I was near the Crescent Visitor Experience when a gentleman told me about the puddings... I immediately went to have a look at the store... it's really quaint and the lady was very helpful. I purchased two Buxton puddings! They didn't take up much room in my luggage -and one I still haven't passed on as a gift. I should probably taste the first one to see if I actually want to share... ha ha) After leaving this store I wandered off to look at a few things before looking for a cafe... I was about to commit to a cafe but my curiosity got the better of me and I went around the back of the Crescent and ... there it was ... another pudding shop. They, very much like the Tribbles on Star Trek, propagate. Kidding of course, I am rather sure you are safe to walk around the corner... there will not be a third store) However, the win for me with this second store is that it is a cafe. The staff were exceptional here and there was even a work experience person assisting. I had tea with cake and cheese. The lady superbly explained the cheeses to me and I was happy to try her suggestion. The tea was incredibly good. The cake was a wee bit dry but ohhh that local white cheese. oooooh la la. Yummy! They could have just given me a plate of it. Possibly not the most healthy of lunches, it will remain with me and I will be more open to eating white cheese in future.
