We stopped here on the way home from a stay in Buxton, this is a lovely little cafe, we had the oatcake cooked breakfast and it didn’t disappoint, quality food, cooked perfectly, washed down with a gourmet pot of tea. Couldn’t fault, friendly staff in a quaint little spot. View all feedback.

We arrived at this cafe for breakfast around 10 in the morning. Unfortunately, the cafe was not heated and was quite cold. We had hoped to order the oak cake full breakfast, but they were out of oatcakes. As a result, we settled for two English breakfasts, which were served in small, almost minimalistic portions and priced at £6.70 each - we felt this was overpriced. Additionally, drinks were not included in the breakfast and we were charged an extra £1.70 for a mug of tea. When we asked for filter coffee, we were informed that they did not have any. In total, our meal for two came to £17.60. While I would visit Hayfield again, I would not return to Rosie Lees as I believe it is overpriced for the quality of the food and service.
We arrived at the restaurant for breakfast, but it took an hour for someone to come take our order. By the time they did, breakfast service was already over and they refused to serve us. Additionally, we found hairs in our drinks. The staff appeared untrained for breakfast service and were heard swearing at each other. It seems like they were hired straight from the job center. We recommend avoiding this place and we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending it to friends and family.
I popped in here with some friends on the off chance that there might be something gluten free that I could eat. The moment I mentioned that I was coeliac all of the staff could not do enough to make me feel like I was eating safely. The owner and the chef both came out to chat with me and I settled on a bacon and egg sandwich. There were lots of Gluten Free options to choose from. I knew I was on to a winner when our server told me that they hadn’t used the kitchen butter incase of cross contamination and they provided me with pre packed pats of butter. The food was very tasty, as was the choices made by my non coeliac friends. All my food was prepared separately and safely and I had no coeliac reactions in the days that followed. What a fabulous place I highly recommend it.

We have always been fond of Rosie's, and this recent visit was no different. The all-day breakfast was delicious, made with high-quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was lively and the staff were friendly, making Rosie's a valuable addition to Hayfield.
