This restaurant served us one of the best curries we have ever had. We have had a lot of Indian food, but this was truly superb. The Veg Balti was excellent and the Chicken Tikka Shahee was sublime. If we were local, this would definitely be our go-to Indian restaurant. Highly recommended. View all feedback.
What 1ginevrah doesn't like about Memories Of India:
Possibly the worst curry takeaway I've ever eaten. All dishes tasted the same: completely bland. The one advertised as with mushrooms in a creamy garlic sauce had literally no mushrooms. It did have several long human hairs on it, however. Ordered veg Palak with extra paneer. Found 2 pieces of paneer. The plain boiled rice was probably the highlight of this meal. View all feedback.

One word sums up my first visit on Saturday evening awful . We was booked in for a small birthday dinner, when we arrived we was taken to the function room upstairs which was very cold with no heating on when we arrived, we asked for the heating to be turned on which took 45 mins for the room to warm up, I asked for a pint of pepsi when we arrived as I was designated driver for the evening this request was ignored and we had to ask again 20 mins later, the rest of the party had brought in drinks as the venue has no alcohol licence. The venue is run down and clearly some areas need some repairs which does not give a great impression. Food was served, I had garlic mushrooms for a starter and could not taste any garlic and then asked for a steak as I don 't eat very spicy food, I was told they don 't have steak, I then ordered a mushroom omelette and chips, the omelette was fine, chips where clearly frozen chips brought in bulk and tasteless, the food standard would be what I would expect from a typical cheap cafe in a town centre market not from a restaurant. When the meal ended the waiter accidentally dropoed some cutlery which landed on my white top (brought that day brand new for our evening out) The waiter then said it was my fault and that I was drunk, given I was driving and only had 2 glasses of Pepsi, I find that totally unacceptable and totally unprofessional, we didn 't even get a sorry from the waiter. My top is now stained and even after using vanish stain remover and washing there is still a faint stain. The service was poor, unprofessional, the food was not of a acceptable standard for a restaurant and the decor was tatty and in need of repairs. I didn 't say anything or complain on our visit as I felt it would of ended the evening badly and this was my friend 's birthday meal out so I didn 't want to cause a scene as the night was a celebration of her birthday and not about me. Very disappointed with this restaurant and will never return.

The staff weren't very talkative, but the food was fantastic and the portions were very generous. They also took great care of the kids and were very hospitable. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
This restaurant did not meet expectations. Despite everyone telling me it was amazing, I found the food to be just average. The curry was nothing special and the restaurant itself was tired and shabby. It is BYOB, but not worth the visit in my opinion. The staff were friendly, but overall I was disappointed and likely won't be returning.
