Description
Nestled near the center of Buxton, Lee Wood Hotel presents a blend of delightful hospitality and culinary letdowns. Guests consistently praise the friendly and attentive staff, noting exceptional service throughout their stays. The breakfast, featuring a diverse selection, garners widespread acclaim for its freshness and flavor. However, some dining experiences have fallen short, with reports of slow service and less-than-satisfactory evening meals, leaving diners wanting more. Overall, while Lee Wood offers a pleasant atmosphere and stunning views, its restaurant could benefit from improvements to match its reputation for hospitality. Recommendations lean towards staying but dining with caution.

Lovely hotel, dated in places. Staff extremely polite, helpful and pleasant. Nothing too much trouble. Breakfast delicious.. Lots of choice both full English and continental. Piping hot and fresh. Room lovely, Only criticism, is tv too far away from the bed, opposite side of the room. And hard to see. Lovely stay. Would definitely revisit.
Excellent service, Very friendly staff, excellent food, room brilliant. We would recommend it to anyone. We shall go again!
Everything about our stay was lovely! The receptionist who checked us in, and the waitress at breakfast, were both lovely, friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated with a fantastic view. Perfect location being 5 mins walk to the centre of Buxton. Breakfast was delicious. Cannot fault our stay, already planning our next!
We, a group of school friends, stayed at this restaurant for our annual reunion. The staff went out of their way to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. We unanimously agreed that this was the best restaurant we had visited in over 23 reunions. Congratulations to the staff, who were all incredibly friendly and welcoming.
My partner and I dined at this restaurant in the evening, even though we were not guests at the hotel where most diners seemed to be staying. Unfortunately, our booking was not on their records, but they managed to find us a decent table. However, the service was quite slow overall. The food, when it finally arrived, was not up to par. The vegetables were cold and too hard, almost raw. The main dishes were mediocre at best. Getting the bill was also a challenge, as we had to ask twice before I went to the bar to settle it myself. Despite the subpar service, we chose to pay our bill. We do not recommend dining here.
