However, there were complaints about poor service, long wait times, and cold food. The staff appeared overworked and poorly trained. Menu choices were limited, but the food was described as well-cooked and enjoyable. Overall, the restaurant is in need of some improvement, but offers good value for set evening meals. Despite some issues, many guests enjoyed their stay and plan to return in the future.
I and my husband went for dinner .Restaurant section was empty . When I order my drink sprite waitress asked me pint or half and I realised that is not in the bottle so I wanted to change bottle of diet coke. After that strangely she was questioning that why I wanted bottle not the other option . Anyway then we ordered 2 starters , 2 mains and 1 puding. As a starter we both ordered the soup and it was ok. And the main course I had the fish which is disappointing. It was too tough , just boiled fish not even seasoned . It comes with raw onion ,some black olives, 1 bigh dried tomato and 1 egg. And again chef didn’t even put a pinch of salt in it. I finished the fish because I was so hungry and I didn’t want to waste it. Never come back again .
While the Hotel had an elegant entrance and staircase and was in a convenient position with clean rooms the dinner menu was a disappointing buffet and looked rather sad and dry and as there was only one other diner we left and went into town which was packed with fine restaurants and very busy. To be fair the breakfast was reasonable (except for awful coffee) and the staff were helpful although it all felt a bit Fawlty Towers!
We got to the restaurant for the pre paid dinner at 1920 for a 1930 booking. Taken to table given menus then nothing. No one came near us for 20mins then we were asked what we wanted, including drinks. Then nothing, no drinks not even a piece of bread to go with the butter that was on the plate. Having watched other people being served before us we walked out after 40 mins waiting. Disgraceful service. The only plus was that it prompted us to find an excellent eatery in the town. We didn't even go down for breakfast we were that disgusted with the place. Lesson learned read reviews before booking. Still shaking with annoyance! The one star was because I can't give NONE
In these strange times hotels are doing everything possible to keep customers/staff safe so having to book a breakfast slot and having it served at the table is no bad thing. Plenty of options on the breakfast choice sheet to choose from and the service from the staff was excellent under the present restrictions.
We had breakfast there. it was chaotic and disappointing. the service was behind large screens. and it was difficult to hear. i never saw anyone wiping tables between guests
